Mosudi Babatunde SOSAN is a Professor of Entomology (Insecticide Toxicology) at the Department of Crop Production and Protection, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He holds an Ordinary National Diploma in General Agriculture (1986) and a Bachelor of Agriculture degree (B.Agric. Hons) (1991) from the same institution. He further obtained an M.Phil. (1998), Ph.D. (2006), and Master of Public Administration (MPA) (2011) from Obafemi Awolowo University.

Prof. Sosan conducted his postdoctoral research at the Centre for Environmental and Occupational Health Research (CEOHR), Department of Public Health and Family Medicine, University of Cape Town, South Africa. His research focuses on the biological and environmental monitoring of pesticides, with particular emphasis on assessing pesticide residues and their potential carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic human health risks in fruits, vegetables, and complementary food products in Nigeria.

A seasoned academic and researcher, he is a member of the Entomological Society of Nigeria and possesses extensive experience in teaching, research, leadership, mentorship, and administration. He has served as a National Consultant to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), contributing to the assessment of national capacity for pesticide management in selected West African countries.

Prof. Sosan has conducted extensive studies and has published widely in his field. He is currently leading a funded research project titled “Strategies for Ensuring Environmental Protection and Minimizing Public Health Risks Due to the Use of Pesticides in Nigeria.” Additionally, he is the immediate past Head of the Department of Crop Production and Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.
